We are seeking a versatile and experienced Substation Project Manager/Estimator to manage projects from initial concept through completion. This dual-role requires a strong background in high-voltage electric substation construction, with the ability to perform accurate cost estimates, secure bids, and oversee project execution. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, detail-oriented leader who can manage multiple projects, maintain strong client relationships, and ensure all work is completed safely, on time, and within budget. This is an Exempt (Salary) position that reports to management, with a work location that includes a mix of office and field work, including required travel.
· Driver’s license and MVR requirement: Valid Driver’s License and clean MVR
· Education: A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Technology, Construction Management, or equivalent work experience. A Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) certification is an asset.
· Experience: A minimum of three to seven years of office and field management or technical services experience in high-voltage electric substation construction, including experience in mid-level management.
· Technical Skills: Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Procore experience helpful.
· Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
· Performs all duties assigned by supervisor or manager.
· Attend, prepare for, lead when required and participate in meetings.
· Role could involve chasing work, business development, marketing, and review of incoming projects
· Understand and comply with company policies, company operating procedures, regulations and codes.
· Produces and has knowledge in these tasks: forecasting, production tracking, % completes, budget planning, budget tracking, submittals, RFIs, monthly billing, change order management, and punch lists.
· Can produce daily, weekly and monthly projections for all construction activities.
· Sub-contractor management to include identify changed conditions, dispute management, risk management
· Risk management awareness: focused on avoiding delay costs, avoiding LDs, avoiding claims.
· Planning, directing, and supervising daily activities of the resources of projects assigned to you.
· Monitors manpower, manhours, material, equipment, rentals and other job cost impact items.
· Monitor and manage project schedule. Adjust as necessary to meet deadlines. Inform leadership when falling behind schedule.
· Interpret project requirements, conduct take-offs, and gather data on labor and materials to create accurate cost estimates and prepare full proposal packages. You will be involved in chasing work, business development, and reviewing incoming projects.
· Oversee contracts: can read, understand and follow all contract documents. Ensure all work is completed according to contract documents.
· Prepare, review, and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with owners, engineers, suppliers and subcontractors.
· Documentation done timely. Accurate reporting and tracking followed through to completion.
· Maintains open and good communication with owners, engineers, project team, subcontractors, leadership.
· Manage and help your project teams manage material, tooling and equipment costs.

· Adheres to all applicable Altitude, Local, State and Federal safety standards and safety requirements.
· Wears all required protective and safety equipment while performing tasks that require it.
· Must be able to safely maneuver around job sites.
· Able to speak and hear information through oral communication.
· Has visual acuity to see items clearly and sharply.
· To ensure projects under your direction are running smoothly and profitably, you will be required to make site visits or be in the field at least two days a week. Also, visit sites as required based on how the job is performing and or during critical phases in the work scopes. It is important that you spend adequate time on each jobsite to ensure success.
· You are expected to manage multiple projects directly and assist in other projects indirectly at any given time.
· Typical work schedules; up to 12-hour days and 50-hours per week.
· Could include working additional hours, nights, weekends, out of town, overtime, outages, storm calls as required.
