The Project Manager/Estimator will be working with the estimating/management team, the successful candidate will:
- Monitor various bidding opportunity websites for applicable tenders, evaluate tender risks, scopes and resource demands
- Review drawings and specifications, and prepare proposals, estimates, and tender submissions
- Setup job in accounting system, issue purchase orders, review vendor/subcontractor invoices, and promptly issue client invoices for work performed
- Prepare work schedules and coordinate manpower and equipment for ongoing and upcoming projects
- Conduct procurement of materials and equipment, coordinate shop drawing reviews, releases, and deliveries
- Evaluate project profitability by comparing cost to date against earned revenue
- Make modifications on poorly performing tasks and thrive for a positive revenue vs cost ratio
- Manage assigned project materials and equipment on hand and communicate availability of inventory to assigned field supervisors
- Apply for and coordinate electrical permits, underground locates, CSA inspections, and all required permissions based on assigned project requirements
- Monitor staff hiring websites for applicants, conduct all interviews, prepare and issue offer letters, and coordinate new staff onboarding for assigned projects
- Coordinate site inspections and permit / job close out procedures
- Conduct site-visits to support field staff and ensure thorough understanding of job parameters
- Obtain, negotiate, and select subcontractors, evaluate scope and pricing, and maintaining positive working relationships
- Collaborates with all key stakeholders, including field staff, management, clients, and sub-contractors
- Minimum 5 years of related experience preferred (Electrical and/or civil)
- Ability to understand, read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Exceptional communication and conflict resolution skills
- Technological aptitude, including Microsoft Office, QB Online (estimating), Adobe, Online meeting platforms
- Ability to create a co-operative environment between all stakeholders
- Graduate from recognized engineering or construction management program preferred
Oakpark Powerline is located on Highway 75, 3 miles south of St Norbert.
