Lead manufacturing team and suppliers in the construction of structural steel components at the Catoosa facility.
- Help create and manage the production schedule
- Ensure solid cost controls are in place and regularly review actual job performance
- Be a “working” supervisor by welding and charging time to jobs accordingly
- Visit sub-contract suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and timeliness are in-line with expectations
- Ensure COF core values of safety, quality, schedule and value are upheld and policies are being followed
- Verify facility, equipment and supplies are adequate to support operation
- Directly lead supervision and department shop personnel as required
- Manage staffing levels to ensure overtime levels are maintained while maintaining an efficient workforce
- Maintain high levels of communication with Engineering, Purchasing, and Project Management to minimize costs and ensure high-levels of on-time delivery
- Knowledge of AWS and CWB standards a plus
- Knowledge of structural steel welding procedures
- Ability to implement efficient methods for structural steel manufacturing
- Ability to read and understand prints and specifications and take accurate measurements
- Ability to understand PQR and WPS requirements and plan workforce and testing accordingly
- Ability to effectively supervise and manage workforce
- Ability to work with suppliers to ensure adequate materials are in-house for efficient workflow
- Familiarity of working within an ERP environment for schedule and BOM requirements
- Positive working relationship with sales, quality, engineering, purchasing and customers
- Ability to monitor on-going job costs and make decisions as required
- Desire to mentor workforce to improve their skillsets and contribution to Catoosa as well as the COF culture and community.- Technical degree preferred or 10+ year relevant welding and/or fabrication industry experience
- 2-5 years’ experience operating MIG, TIG, and/or SAW welding equipment
- Understanding of the costing elements in labor and material required to build structural steel
