Senior Structural Engineer/Civil Engineer

Growing engineering firm has an immediate opening for a structural engineer in its Gilbert, Arizona office to design and review steel structures in the metals, mining, energy production plants. You will provide complete engineering designs and calculations, review and approve the designs prepared by other engineers and designers.

Responsibilities:

- Provide load calculations and RISA-3D modeling for the steel structures

- Design structural components utilizing RISA-3D model

- Provide structural steel and concrete building design and calculations using RISA

- Provide steel connection calculations, designs and drawings

- Communications among the customers and other engineers

- Field evaluation and gathering the required information

- Review and approve the designs, drawings, calculations and reports prepared by other engineers. Prepare the calculation reports

- Achieve agreed outcomes within schedule and budget

Skills and Requirements:

- A Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering is required

- Proficient with, and minimum 6 years’ experience in RISA

- P.E. License is required. S.E. License is preferable

- Strong knowledge of building and design codes

- Strong understanding of structural construction, general and detail drawings, fabrication drawings and bill of materials

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are must. Highly efficient on reading and understanding specifications

- Excellent time-management skills to meet promised schedules and attention to detail are must

- Strong work ethic, flexibility to work outside of normal business hours as required

- Capable of working on multi-faceted engineering design projects of any magnitude while requiring minimum supervision

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $73,011.39 - $87,927.70 per year
