Position Summary:
Operates with limited supervision from the Production Superintendent. Responsible for managing all field operations associated with production, safety, compliance, field personnel management (company and contract), construction and any special operational activities occurring in the Area of Supervision. Generally supervises 20-30 personnel.
Responsibilities and Expectations:
•Responsible for communicating management expectations to all of the operating personnel in Area of Supervision.
•Responsible for the supervision and training of all crews in the monitoring and interpretation of meters, gauges, pumps, compressors, instrument readings and charts associated with oil and gas production.
•Responsible for monitoring daily production data and well performance to maintain peak efficiency in production rates.
•Responsible for assisting personnel in the troubleshooting of well production and process maintenance/safety issues that require corrective action.
•Responsible for communicating findings requiring corrective action to Management in a prompt fashion.
•Responsible for conducting platform visitation, (2) each hitch, for the purpose of training and evaluation of personnel per Subpart O as well as inspection of use of SEMS processes and operating procedures. Utilize Lead Operator during the visits either to attend and assist or conduct the platform visit for your evaluation.
•Responsible for the monitoring of performance of Operators in their abilities to start, operate, inspect and perform routine maintenance of facility equipment such as generators, natural gas compressors and pumps.
•Responsible for documenting positive and negative performance information of each person evaluated for future reference in evaluations and to be used in identifying and developing training needs.
•Responsible to ensure that the Operators responsible for subordinate workers monitor and take responsibility for those workers.
•Responsible to plan and manage all daily logistics and reporting with helicopter and marine transportation.
•Responsible to organize the training and certification of Operators on pedestal/boom cranes using hand and foot controls to transfer personnel and supplies to and from platform.
•Responsible for ensuring that all Operators have necessary training tools/documents in place for operational, associated EHS&R and compliance matters.
•Responsible for enforcing safety procedures and following up on the maintenance of safety data i.e. daily activity/safety meetings as well as weekly safety meetings.
•Responsible for conducting/participating in safety training topics such as basic first aid, CPR, fire drills, safety capsule deployment/operation and emergency evacuation on your hub platform and on the outlying facilities. As part of platform visitation, inspection and evaluation, foster an environment whereby Operators are engaged to highest extent in promoting a safe and compliant workplace.
•Responsible to get proper training for the Operators in the handling and mixing of a variety of substances (such as acids, chemicals, oils) in large containers, insuring proper operation of production equipment.
•Responsible for monitoring all wireline and construction activities as well as reviewing or approving as needed JSEAs associated with such work.
•Responsible for preparation of MOC as part of SEMS requirement for personnel movement and transfer and any non- routine repair or replacement as needed.
•Responsible for approval of all ProcureIt orders taking into account existing inventory and monitoring for waste as a lease operating cost control measure.
•Responsible for, during periodic platform visitation, reviewing the actual BSEE safety device test worksheets as well as conducting training of subordinates by witnessing their ability and safety device testing expertise and documentation of same.
•Responsible for approval of all timesheets of workers insuring accuracy of location charges and special approval for overtime earned.
•Responsible for authorizing any field service work requiring call out of technicians and verifying scope of work and estimated costs.
•Required to possess demonstrated personnel management skills for the performance of this position as this is a critical part of the job responsibility.
•Responsible for review of CHAMPS work orders for prioritization and approval.
•Other duties as assigned by Production Superintendent or as required by the job position.
Education, Experience and Certification(s):
•Minimum High School Diploma, GED or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
•10+ years related offshore oil/gas experience with demonstrated progressive advancement in roles.
•8+ years of management/supervision experience with offshore personnel
•T-2 Certification and company required LMS training
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•Advanced knowledge of gas dehydration, gas compression, oil treating, water treating, electrical power systems, gas lifting and oil and gas sales systems.
•Well-rounded communicator: must be able to listen well and articulate clear and concise directions.
•Intermediate skills in training personnel through a variety of delivery methods (On the Job training, presentations, etc.)
•Ability to identify mis-executed processes and procedures by platform personnel and correct deficiencies.
•Advanced knowledge of interpreting production platform data and metrics and skill to ensure platform is functioning at peak efficiency.
•Advanced knowledge of troubleshooting and rectifying well production anomalies.
•Advanced knowledge of routine platform sub-system maintenance schedules and creating and monitoring plans that ensure timely upkeep of platform and equipment.
•High degree of personal accountability and leading by example.
•Intermediate knowledge of platform logistics, including coordination with helicopter and marine transportation.
•Intermediate knowledge of ProcureIt software and monitoring logistic orders to ensure effective cost control of lease operating expenses.
•Intermediate knowledge of operating pedestal/boom cranes.
•Intermediate knowledge of proper handling and mixing of a variety of chemicals necessary for well production and assorted platform equipment.
•Intermediate knowledge of well wireline activities and reviewing/approving JSEA’s associated with such activities.
•Intermediate knowledge of platform construction activities and reviewing/approving JSEA’s associated with such activities.
•Intermediate knowledge of SEMS environment and completion of MOC forms to complete personnel movement.
•Intermediate knowledge of CHAMPS software and prioritization of generated work orders.
•Advanced knowledge of BSEE safety regulations and ensuring all platform personnel are trained in proper operation of safety equipment.
•Intermediate knowledge of UltiPro HR software and manage personnel timesheets as well as ensuring manpower charges are correctly allocated.
•Knowledge of developing scope of work assignments for callout technicians and managing project costs and timely delivery of work.
•Ability to establish a strong culture of safety awareness and champions practices and processes that promote effective EHS behaviors.
Work Environment:
•Required to travel to the worksite via marine or helicopter transport.
•Office environment primarily, Operations site environment when specific evaluation/problems require such or possibly vendor site where new equipment/rehabilitation work is performed
•Requires occasional travel outside the service area
•Requires wearing personal protective safety equipment (respirators, safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, etc.) as appropriate when evaluating site or equipment
•Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing steps and/or ladders to inspect equipment when necessary
•Requires operation of a personal computer
