Your Mission
Highwood is hiring a Staff Consultant to lead high-impact client projects, provide mentorship to peers, and contribute to business development and the strategic direction of the consulting team. This role is ideal for a proven professional who brings deep industry expertise, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about scaling solutions that address climate change.
Industry Expertise & Client Delivery
•Lead and contribute high-value billable hours on client projects.
•Ensure best-fit, quality-assured solutions tailored to client needs.
•Manage project scope, budget, timelines, and team execution.
•Lead client communications and maintain strong relationships.
•Provide peer review and strategic input across the consulting group.
•Oversee project tracking, reporting, and communication with leadership.
•Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed from onboarding to final delivery.
•Guide junior and senior consultants on client engagement and issue resolution.
Business Development
•Lead proposal development and business development engagements.
•Identify new market opportunities and nurture client pipelines.
•Collaborate on strategic planning for productizing consulting offerings.
Mentorship & Leadership
•Mentor colleagues and contribute to professional development programs.
•Support the growth of Highwood’s consulting practice through thought leadership.
•Help define and refine processes, tools, and approaches used within the team

About You
Here are some of the things we’re looking for. Note that we don’t expect you to have all of these qualifications, experiences, and/or skills. We often choose to train someone with the right attitude over hiring the wrong person with the right skills.
• 15+ years of relevant experience in oil & gas, consulting, or emissions management.
• Experience in managing client-facing projects from scoping to delivery.
• Strong business development skills and the ability to close contracts.
• Demonstrated mentorship and leadership capabilities.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, project management, and organizational skills.
• A creative and entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to innovate.
