POSITION OVERVIEW
The Sr. Supervisor – Strategic Technologies will lead ASARCO's innovation efforts by supervising the Innovation/Business Technology Team and ensuring that strategic technology initiatives deliver measurable value to operations. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and effective project management to ensure the successful evaluation, development, and implementation of technologies that improve business performance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
•Provide project management and leadership over the development and implementation of strategic technology initiatives across ASARCO operations.
•Supervise the Innovation Team, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and delivery of technology-driven improvements to operational efficiency.
•Identify mining process technology gaps and opportunities for innovation and propose practical, value-added solutions.
•Design, develop, and implement models, advanced analytics, alerts, reports, and dashboards that utilize data from key business systems.
•Define and document business requirements for technology-based solutions.
•Develop and implement technology-related procedures, user guides, standards of performance, and best practices.
•Maintain up-to-date project data in the project management system to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
•Collaborate with Business Technology Management and Finance to align IT initiatives with business processes and cost structures.
•Ensure that technology costs are accurately reflected in profitability reporting.
•Assist in the evaluation, integration, and implementation of third-party applications and emerging technologies.
•Work closely with third-party development teams, architects, and engineers to deliver operational technology improvements.
•Review and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and job task instructions.
•Recommend and support action plans to improve fleet management systems and mining technologies.
•Validate business analysis deliverables and ensure that business requirements are met.
•Review test scripts and support system integration and user acceptance testing of new solutions.
•Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of Business Technology Engineers and Advanced Data Analysts.
•Responsible for executing, supporting, and enforcing the Company's Environmental, Health and Safety program as required by OIS policy, directives, and principles.
•Perform additional duties as required by business needs.

Requirements:
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
•Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
•Minimum of 3 years of experience in mining operations, preferably in roles involving technology implementation or process improvement.
•Willingness to travel to other operations as needed.
•English language fluency.
o At least CEFR B2 - Upper Intermediate: Can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in their field of specialization.
Preferred:
•Advanced degree (e.g., M.Sc., MBA) or professional certifications in project management, analytics, or mining technology.
