Using an analytical and collaborative mindset, you will be responsible for the planning of a project portfolio in various areas of the Commerce City Refinery, which is the largest refinery in the Rocky Mountain region and the only petroleum refinery in Colorado.
As a Project Control Advisor you will provide project controls guidance and recommendations, explain complex progress and performance variance, and work with various levels of the organization and other stakeholders as a subject matter expert.
Minimum Requirements:•5 to 10 years of specialized experience in project controls
•Ability to apply and improve established standards, guidelines, systems, and processes
•Ability to coach and influence with strong problem solving skills
•Proficiency with MS Office Suite applications, project management and planning programs, as well as data visualization programs
•Previous experience with SAP, FieldGlass, or Aspen-tech In Plant Estimator would be considered an asset
•A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
•A post-secondary training course or diploma in a related field would be considered an asset
•A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
•Must be legally authorized to work in the USA for the duration of your employment
Responsibilities:
•Implement Project Controls for projects with budgets between $100K and $10M
•Act as a resource person for the project engineering team, from project setup to project close-out
•Use a collaborative approach to develop the project’s work breakdown structure for cost and schedule for integrity of work
•Work with multi-disciplinary team of Suncor employees and partners (consulting firms, contractors)
•Support effective communication and provide data analysis for senior stakeholders
•Interface with finance and project portfolio management to ensure financial procedures and processes are followed

•Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs

Salary/Hourly Rate and Compensation Details:
•Annual salary range: $99,000 - $130,000; our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
•Annual incentive (bonus) program with a 20% target
