Greenlake is looking for an experienced, motivated, and intellectually curious oil and gas professional to join the accounting team as a Sr. Financial Reporting Accountant in Summer 2025. The candidate will play an integral role in the traditional internal & external financial reporting functions, and will also be encouraged to spearhead ad hoc projects under the direction of Greenlake leadership. The ideal candidate will have strong fundamental understanding of US GAAP, analytical and problem-solving skills, a strong work ethic, and excellent communication skills. The role will report to the Controller.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for two separately consolidated reporting entities: Greenlake I and Greenlake II
• Oversee the preparation of the monthly internal financial reporting package and assist in communicating key financial results to management
• Maintain and reconcile general ledgers and intercompany balances
• Coordinate timely execution of month-end and quarter-end close activities with the accounting and finance teams
• Serve as a subject matter expert in financial reporting and ensure compliance with the company’s reporting obligations to banks, partners, and other external stakeholders
• Interface with operations, land, reservoir, and legal teams to gather and validate key inputs and estimates used in the financial reporting process
• Assist in the coordination of annual financial statement audits, including audit deliverables and process support
• Five (5+) years of Upstream Oil and Gas accounting experience
• Solid technical accounting and financial reporting foundation
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, particularly the successful efforts method of accounting
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
• Bachelor's degree (BBA or BS) in Finance, Accounting, or similar discipline
• Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and embrace new technologies, financial systems, and reporting tools
• Experience working with external auditors and preparing audit-ready financials
• Detail-oriented, process-driven mindset with strong analytical skills
• Multi-company reporting experience, preferably within private equity-backed environments
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of the organization
• Experience using Power BI or Power Query to create dashboards or reporting tools is a plus
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus as needed in a dynamic environment
