Description
The Sr. Operations Accountant will assist with the daily operations of the accounting team, supporting multiple departments, including Beneficial Reuse, Industrial Water, Water Sourcing, and Operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
•Prepare monthly Operating and R&D (Beneficial Reuse) expense accruals.
•Prepare monthly entries and billings for all aspects of accounting related to the Industrial Water business.
•Maintain customer relationships and follow up on collections of billings related to the Industrial Water business.
•Coordinate with Technical Accounting on revenue and expense recognition related to Industrial Water projects.
•Prepare monthly entries and billings for all aspects of accounting related to the Water Sourcing business.
•Develop and maintain good working relationships with other departments, including Operations, Beneficial Reuse, Industrial Water, Capital Projects, Commercial, Land and Finance.
•Monitor R&D, OPEX, Industrial Water, and other expense accounts and prepare reclass journal entries as necessary.
•Coordinate with Operations and Finance to monitor key operating expense accounts and provide variance explanations as needed.
•Prepare monthly analysis files to be used in month-end reviews.
•Perform account reconciliations for owned accounts.
•Assist corporate accounting with certain monthly close responsibilities as time permits.
•Identify opportunities to enhance existing business processes.
•Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
•Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance.
•3 - 6+ years accounting experience, preferably in midstream/upstream oil & gas
•Must be self-motivated with a high attention to detail and able to meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
•Prior experience with project or percentage of completion accounting preferred.
•Must be proficient in MS suite, with advanced experience in MS Excel.
•Prior experience with Quorum Upstream ERP system preferred, but not required.
•Strong analytical abilities

•Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and the ability to set priorities.
•Must be self-sufficient and take ownership of responsibilities.
•Flexible to work overtime during peak periods.
