TEi is seeking a highly experienced Sr Contracts Specialist to join a Dynamic Team at it’s Tulsa, OK or La Palma, CA offices.
In this role the Sr Contracts Specialist responsibilities include, without limitation, assisting with the review, negotiation, and drafting of contracts to ensure adequate protection and assurance that contracts are reasonable and in compliance with corporate risk standards; coordination of insurance matters; review and coordination of letters of credit and bank guarantees; providing support for corporate governance matters; and performing administrative and other job duties to support the Legal Department. Essential Responsibilities: • Review, negotiate, and draft terms and conditions for agreements, including purchase orders, change orders and other forms of agreements, with customers and vendors, all with attorney support as required.
•Understand and apply legal principles for various forms of agreements and document preparation, with attorney support as required.
•Coordinate insurance matters with the Corporate Risk Management department including reviews of contract insurance terms, claims, certificates of insurance, and annual insurance renewals.
•Perform export control and sanctions due diligence and coordinate efforts with outside counsel as directed.
•Assist with state and local contractor licensing applications and renewals, including research of applicable laws and regulations.
Job Requirements / Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: • Bachelor’s degree or higher. Paralegal certification is a plus.
•Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract administration involving legal issues and negotiation.
•The ideal candidate will possess experience in manufacturing and/or the power generation industry.
•Licensed as a notary (or become licensed as a notary after joining TEi).
•Extensive knowledge and understanding of various commercial terms and conditions, including legal and commercial implications.
•Strong attention to detail, particularly in locating and correcting errors in commercial and contract documents.
•Working knowledge of power generation industry, manufacturing and/or construction industry practices and legal standards.
•Able to effectively prioritize tasks and maintain superior attention to detail and quality, communicate effectively by written and verbal means, work well independently and work effectively in a group setting.
•Strong interpersonal attributes/skills, including high ethical standards, strong organizational and communication skills, and work cooperatively with others.
•Be proactive and take ownership of job responsibilities.
Computer Skills
•Proficient in Word, Adobe Pro, SharePoint and Excel applications.
•Contract database/management software experience a plus.
