Soil Sampling Labourer

About Us

New Found Gold Corp. is a leading gold exploration company headquartered in Gander, Newfoundland & Labrador. We are currently seeking temporary Soil Sampler Labourers. These positions will be two weeks on and one week off and includes work in remote locations, including camp accommodations.

Key Responsibilities

The Soil Sampling Labourer is responsible for collecting, labeling, and recording soil samples from designated locations in support of mineral exploration, environmental monitoring, or agricultural programs. This role involves working outdoors in varying terrain and weather conditions, ensuring samples are collected according to strict quality control protocols.

- Conduct soil sampling in the field following established procedures and safety guidelines.

- Accurately record GPS coordinates, sample IDs, and field observations.

- Maintain the integrity of samples through proper handling, labeling, and storage.

- Operate and maintain field equipment such as GPS units, sampling augers, and ATVs/trucks.

- Complete daily field reports and communicate progress or issues to supervisors.

- Follow environmental and safety regulations, including proper PPE use.

- Assist with other field tasks such as vegetation surveys, claim staking, or equipment transport as required.

Qualifications & Skills

- High school diploma or equivalent;.

- Previous fieldwork experience preferred but not required (training provided).

- Ability to work in remote locations for extended periods and in varying weather conditions.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Physically fit and able to carry sampling gear and walk long distances over uneven ground.

- Valid driver’s license (Class 5 or equivalent); ATV and First Aid certifications are an asset.

Work Environment

- Outdoor field-based role; travel to remote sites by truck, ATV, or helicopter may be required.

- Shift rotations may include long days and camp-based accommodations.
