Job Description
Reporting to the EI&C Engineering Manager and working closely with other key stakeholders, the Software Integration Engineer will be responsible for the definition, development, and implementation of software infrastructure that supports hardware testing and system validation essential to the completion of key project deliverables.
The Software Integration Engineer will be responsible for the implementation of software solutions to collect data from GLE process (enrichment cascade) equipment, gas handling and storage system (GHS) hardware, laser systems, support systems and other ancillary equipment required for the Company’s technology development and demonstration project.
NOTE: This role is subject to the incumbent’s ability to hold and maintain an NRC Q-clearance, as well as their ongoing ability to maintain nuclear site access.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Develop and implement software and control solutions to advance enrichment technology.
- Work with engineering team to plan and select systems to automate data acquisition and data visualization.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering team and technicians to implement software and control system solutions to support safe and efficient operations.
- Create algorithms to analyze complex test data and verify compliance with acceptance criteria.
- Responsible for the development and testing of software and Control Systems, ensuring functional and operational requirements are satisfied.
- Manage software integration into the greater plant control system strategy, ensuring all relevant data is recorded and stored as required for operation and reliability analysis.
- Develop data management strategies.
- Develop tools that improve the frequency, reliability, and automation of software deployment, test execution, and data analysis.
- Develop documentation in a manner suitable to support procurement, fabrication, installation, commissioning and operation.
- Maintain design/test records and Integrated Safety Analysis (ISA) compliance.
- Active DOE/NRC Q-clearance or equivalent (DOD Top Secret)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from accredited university or college in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Experience with software development and PLC programming.
- Ability to read and interpret P&ID’s.
- Ability to develop and maintain custom software solutions for interfacing networked devices.
- Familiar with enterprise and industrial networking protocols (TCP/IP, Modbus TCP, DeviceNet, MQTT, EtherNet/IP).
- Proficient at Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to work extended hours on occasion and travel as required.
- Advanced proficiency in software development
- An understanding of vacuum technology and pressure systems, control valves, pressure and temperature transmitters.
- Experience working in classified and/or highly regulated environments
