Software Engineer (Mobile App & Backend) – Leak Detection & Mitigation

Location: Burlington, Ontario (in-office, 3–4 days per week)

Contract: 3-month contract to start, with potential for extension

What You’ll Do

· Mobile App Development: Build on and maintain s cross-platform app using Flutter for iOS and Android.

· Backend & API Development: Continue work on design, implementation, and maintenance of APIs for device/app communications.

· IoT Integration: Work with MQTT (Mosquitto) to support real-time device communications.

· Database Management: Continue existing development and maintain database schemas using PostgreSQL.

· App Deployment: Manage app submissions, updates, and compliance for Google Play and Apple App Store.

· Collaboration: Work closely with hardware/firmware engineers to ensure smooth end-to-end system integration.

· Documentation: Maintain clear and thorough technical documentation to support long-term scalability.

What We’re Looking For

· 3–5 years of professional experience in software development.

· Strong skills in Flutter app development.

· Experience building and maintaining APIs and working with MQTT.

· Knowledge of relational databases (Postgres preferred).

· Familiarity with app store submission processes and requirements.

· Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice-to-Haves

· Experience with ESP32 or other IoT hardware platforms.

· Front-end web development.

· Exposure to smart-home ecosystems (SmartThings, Alexa, Google Home, HomeKit).

· Cloud deployment experience.

We’re looking for a motivated Software Engineer with 3–5 years of experience to help us bring our upgraded Bulldog Pro+ system to market and build the foundation for future smart-home integrations.
