eGauge is an established technology company in Boulder, CO, making revenue-grade smart energy meters. Our growing company supplies products to commercial and residential customers around the world. Our goal is to provide hardware and services that help people better understand their energy use, save money and save energy. eGauge has a small engineering team delivering hardware and software products. As a software developer focused on internal tooling you will work with our engineering team as well as the manufacturing and technical support teams to support, maintain and improve our internal software tooling. This position will allow you to hone your software skills as well as help us scale manufacturing during our continued growth. Over time our team has developed and supported many internal software efforts to streamline our operations, improve our product quality, and increase our capabilities, but we’re looking for someone to further improve and maintain these tools. We view this role as being focused on our continued growth, both as a critical part of expanding manufacturing needs as well as needing someone who is excited to grow as an engineer.
- Improve software testing infrastructure for edge computing devices
- Support and improve applications developed for internal manufacturing capabilities
- Build and test hardware libraries to automate hardware development and testing
- Troubleshoot and resolve software and hardware related issues
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines
- Collaborate across teams to find technical and non-technical solutions to problems small and large
- Strong experience with Python
- Experience working on graphical user interfaces
- Strong scripting skills
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools
- Proficiency working within Linux environments
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience working with web frameworks (Django, Angular)
- Experience with end-to-end testing
- Experience working with embedded devices
- Experience working with Infrastructure-as-Code systems
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with hardware communication protocols
