Nhwelmen Construction is currently seeking experienced Supervisors to join our growing team. Supervisors work closely with the Superintendent to oversee and manage all aspects of project execution. This position plays a key leadership role in driving productivity, enforcing safety protocols, and maintaining effective site operations.
- $40 to $45 per hour, based on experience

- Coordinate daily tasks based on project priorities, plans and schedule.
- Supervise all crew members, subcontractors and equipment usage on site.
- Communicate regularly with the Superintendent regarding project progress, needs and performance.
- Lead, support and implement safety, environmental and quality guidelines.
- Train, mentor and support field personnel to ensure skill development and performance.
- Maintain a safe, clean and organized job site at all times.
- Verify worker competencies and arrange training as needed.
- Identify and resolve risks, conflicts, and on-site challenges in a timely manner.
- Assist in the preparation of reports pertaining to project status and progress.
- Lead and participate in daily Tailgates, ToolBox Talks, and other project related meetings.
- Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
- Collaborate with managers, engineers, subcontractors, etc. to determine project needs.
- Set clear performance expectations, task assignments, and deadlines for workers and subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with contractual performance requirements.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure alignment with plans, specifications, and regulations.
- Track and document scope changes and schedule impacts via written change orders.
- Conduct daily look-ahead to anticipate and mitigate potential issues.
- Review daily equipment inspection reports and follow up on concerns.
- Verify accuracy of timecards
- Ensure crew compliance with equipment maintenance, cleanliness standards, and documentation.
- Completion of mandatory online Orientation and Indoctrination training and certification.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with reliable transportation and a clean Drivers Abstract.
- Mine Supervisor Certification and Level 1 OFA (First Aid); Shiftboss Certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of BC Mines Act, WorkSafe BC regulations, and industry safety standards.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction management with a thorough knowledge of construction processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of construction materials, specifications, and quality control practices.
- Advanced knowledge of heavy civil construction equipment and operations.
- Strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Post-secondary education in construction management, engineering or related field preferred
- Physically fit with the ability to work outdoors in all weather and lift up to 50lbs.
Location: This position is based out of the Kamloops / Thompson area of British Columbia. This is not a camp position; employees provide their own transportation to/from the job site.
