SITE SUPERINTENDENT
Nhwelmen Construction is currently recruiting experienced Site Superintendents to join our growing team. This is a key leadership role responsible for the successful coordination and execution of heavy civil construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality.

Key Responsibilities:
•Coordinate tasks according to priorities, project plans and schedules
•Supervise and manage workers, subcontractors and on-site equipment
•Proactively plan and communicate construction activities
•Lead and uphold safety, environmental, and quality standards
•Train, coach and mentor crew members to ensure optimal performance
•Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site
•Validate worker competencies and provide training where needed
•Identify and resolve site issues, risks, and emergencies
•Prepare and contribute to reports on project status and progress
•Lead and participate in safety meetings, including tailgates and toolbox talks
•Ensure adherence to quality standards and construction best practices
•Collaborate with managers, engineers, and subcontractors to assess project requirements
•Communicate clear performance expectations, goals, and timelines to teams
•Ensure compliance with all contractual, safety, and environmental obligations
•Identify scope changes and document them through written change orders and schedule updates
•Submit accurate daily activity and progress reports
•Perform daily look-ahead planning to identify risks and maintain progress
•Collaborate with stakeholders on scheduling and logistics to achieve project targets for: Production, Manpower, Equipment, Materials, Tools and Supplies, Subcontractors, Quality Control, Survey and other key elements as required
Qualifications:
•Ability to complete online orientations and digital training requirements as needed
•Minimum 5 years of site management experience in civil or mine construction
•Strong understanding of all phase of the construction process
•In-depth knowledge of construction materials, methods, and safety regulations
•Proficient in the use and operations of heavy-duty civil construction equipment
•Advanced understanding of construction management systems and procedures
•Excellent leadership, organizational and planning abilities
•Skilled in conflict resolution and crisis management
•Preference given to candidates with a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Project Management
•Physically fit with the ability to work in all weather conditions and lift up to 50lbs
•Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with clean Drivers Abstract and reliable transportation
Location: This position is based out of the Kamloops / Thompson area of British Columbia.
This is not a camp position; employees provide their own transportation to and from the job site.
