Job Description: Site Construction Laborers for Highway, Road, and Commercial Building Construction Projects

Position Title: Site Construction Laborer (Various Trades)

Department: Construction Operations

Location: Various project sites

Reports To: Site Foreman / Site Superintendent

Job Summary: Site Construction Laborers play a crucial role in the successful completion of highway, road, and commercial building, industrial site construction projects. These laborers perform a variety of physical tasks on the construction site, ensuring the project progresses efficiently and safely. Each laborer will be assigned to specific trades based on project needs, requiring physical stamina, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work in various weather conditions.

General Laborer

Key Responsibilities:

•

Prepare and clean construction sites by removing debris, trash, and hazardous materials.

•

Load and unload construction materials and move them to work areas.

•

Follow instructions from supervisors and implement tasks accordingly.

•

Assist skilled tradesmen as needed.

•

Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.

•

Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.

Qualifications:

•

High school diploma or equivalent.

•

Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects.

•

Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.

•

Previous construction experience is a plus.

•

Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment.

Concrete Laborer

Key Responsibilities:

•

Set up forms for concrete pours for roadways, curbs, sidewalks, and commercial buildings, and industrial sites.

•

Pour, spread, and level concrete using rakes, shovels, and trowels.

•

Operate power vibrators to compact concrete.

•

Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete.

•

Assist in curing concrete to prevent cracks.

Qualifications:

•

High school diploma or equivalent.

•

Experience in concrete work is preferred.

•

Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.

•

Physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous tasks.

•

Attention to detail and strong work ethic.

Asphalt Laborer

Key Responsibilities:

•

Spread and compact asphalt using rakes, shovels, and compacting equipment.

•

Assist with the operation of paving machines and rollers.

•

Level asphalt surfaces to ensure proper grade and slope.

•

Maintain and clean asphalt equipment.

•

Adhere to safety protocols when working with hot materials and heavy machinery.

Qualifications:

•

High school diploma or equivalent.

•

Experience in asphalt paving and repair is preferred.

•

Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.

•

Strong teamwork and communication skills.

•

Knowledge of asphalt paving techniques and equipment operation.

Traffic Control Laborer

Key Responsibilities:

•

Set up and maintain traffic control devices, including signs, cones, and barricades.

•

Direct traffic through construction zones to ensure safety.

•

Monitor and manage traffic flow around the work site.

•

Communicate with team members to coordinate traffic control measures.

•

Follow safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

•

Certification in traffic control (e.g., flagger certification) is preferred.

Ability to stand for long periods and work in various weather conditions.

Demolition Laborer
