Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Shop Assistant to join our team in a custom one-off manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in factory operations and possess mechanical knowledge to assist in various tasks related to assembly, production, painting, and sawing. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our shop, contributing to both safety and efficiency.

Duties

- Read a tape measure.

- Operate various hand tools, band saws, and painting equipment.

- Support the assembly process by preparing materials and components as needed.

- Utilize forklift operation for moving materials within the warehouse and shop areas.

- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of production goals.

- Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment and report any issues to supervisor.

- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.

- Assist with inventory management, including tracking stock levels and ordering supplies as necessary.

Requirements

- Previous experience in a manufacturing facility or factory setting is preferred.

- Familiarity with assembly processes and techniques is highly desirable.

- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues is a plus.

- Experience using tape measures, hand tools, power tools, and forklifts is required.

- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately.

- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $10.00 - $15.00 per hour
