Shop Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Warehouse Worker to join our dynamic team in the metal industry. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse by performing various tasks related to the handling, cutting to size, storage, and distribution of metal/steel products. This position requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ability to read and understand a tape measure and other measurement tools (i.e: -dial calipers) is crucial to this job.

Duties

Safely and accurately pull customer orders, cut metal materials to size utilizing heavy equipment available to build orders according to assigned tickets, shrink wrap and label orders, moving completed orders to designated pickup location in warehouse and the customer vehicles, in addition to loading our delivery truck with goods accordingly daily.

Operate heavy equipment safely such as: Horizontal bandsaws and a Hydraulic shear to cut metal material accurately per order requirements, safely operating forklift/s and the ability to load and unload materials safely into customers vehicles as well as on our delivery vehicles.

Conduct materials handling tasks, ensuring proper storage and organization of products within the warehouse.

Perform regular inspections of equipment to ensure safe operation and report any scheduled maintenance needs.

Collaborate with team members regularly and maintain a clean and organized work environment, while adhering to safety protocols at all times.

Accurately receive inbound products, manage inventory as required.

Perform pre-shift equipment checks and safely operate powered industrial equipment within the warehouse as required.

Requirements

Familiarity in the metal/steel industry and picking packing processes and materials handling techniques is advantageous.

Proficiency with metal/steel cutting and the operation of heavy equipment such as horizontal metal cutting bandsaws, a hydraulic shear, and experience in forklift truck operations is highly desirable.

Ability to regularly move/handle material manually between 50-100 lbs. safely and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.

Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $19.50 - $26.00 per hour
