JOB SUMMARY
As a Shipping Specialist, you will play a vital part of the supply chain process – overseeing the efficient Shipment of our products around the globe. You will be a crucial collaborator to implementing and controlling the efficient and effective flow of goods to meet both the businesses and customers’ requirements. You will utilize your specific shipping experience to continually improve team performance and effectiveness ensuring that targets within the Shipping Department are met. This position will report to the Inventory Manager and will work with other members of the warehouse and other departments throughout the organization.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Processes Capital, Spares, Service, Repair and Transfer orders in the ERP system daily.
•Responsible for preparing all shipping documentation for domestic and international shipments including export documents, bill of lading, pick list and custom documents.
•Responsible for Coordinating warranty shipments with Service, Repair Departments and vendor returns.
•Responsible for arranging transportation for all shipments and securing freight costs as required.
•Responsible for providing accurate and complete shipping records.
•Assist in preparing shipments including boxing, weighing, labelling, and consolidating orders when necessary.
•Interface professionally with multiple departments: Sales, Service, Repair, QA, Inspection, Purchasing, Manufacturing & Planning.
•Work with Sales Department, Project Management and Accounting to resolve shipping issues.
•Achieve same day order turns and achieve Shipping measurement standards established by the Inventory Manager.
•Maintain warehouse supplies and submit requisitions to Inventory Manager.
•Provide quality service by following organization standards.
•Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
•Perform all other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
•Highschool diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
•Minimum of 2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations required.
•General knowledge of warehouse terminology.
•Knowledge of shipping and warehouse practices, including pack-out procedures and documentation for international shipments, DOT regulations, LTL, and transport permit requirements.
•Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment (with certification).
•Computer skills required – Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook, Teams).
•Working knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle preferred, Nexus) for inventory tracking and purchasing workflows.
•Forklift experience preferred.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
•Ability to pass a drug screen & background check.
•Must be willing & able to work any overtime as required, rather that be daily or on the weekends.
•Respond to after-hours calls in a timely fashion with all applicable documents, transport arrangements and inventory records. Rotational responsibility.
•Maintain applicable vehicle operator licenses as necessary to operate company equipment.
•Detail oriented with a commitment to accuracy in documentation and procedures.
•Ability to stay updated on changing customer requirements and industry regulations.
•Must be capable of learning to read and understanding production routers and blueprints.
•Must be capable of operating company fork trucks and capable of achieving and maintaining certification for such equipment.
•Superior interpersonal and communication skills.
•Able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
•Able to work well in a team environment as well as self-directed when working independently.
•Willingness to comply with all safety regulations and procedures.
•Ability to adapt and be cross-trained to learn all job duties.
•Ability to multitask in fast paced environment.
•Must be able to work in factory environment which may include but are not limited to: no air high noise level, vibration, fumes, dust, and odors.
•Must be capable of working in a non-air-conditioned warehouse environment with PPE.
•Ability to stand, walk, bend/stoop, push/pull and repetitive movement up to 12 hours daily.
