Shipping and Receiving Forklift Operator

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Shipping and Receiving Forklift Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the flow of goods in and out of our warehouse. Your expertise in operating various types of machinery and lifting equipment and your knowledge of warehouse operations will be essential in ensuring that all shipping and receiving tasks are completed accurately and safely.

Duties

- Ensure steady flow in the shipping department through packaging and moving finished goods.

- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to load and unload materials from trucks and containers.

- Perform order picking to ensure accurate fulfillment of customer orders.

- Manage shipping and receiving processes, including verifying incoming shipments against purchase orders.

- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment while adhering to OSHA safety standards.

- Assist with inventory management by conducting regular stock counts and reporting discrepancies.

- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency.

- Handle heavy lifting tasks safely, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury.

- Responsible for assisting in staging materials for shipments.

Skills

- Experience loading and unloading vans, flatbeds, and trailers.

- Proven experience in warehouse distribution and materials handling.

- Familiarity with order picking processes.

- Strong mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation, including forklifts and cranes.

- Previous experience as a warehouse associate or shipping employee is beneficial.

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

The first priority for the position will be shipping and receiving. However, based on the Union description for a semi-skilled position, the employee may be required to assist in other areas as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.68 - $25.42 per hour
