Your Impact in This Role
As a
Forklift Operator, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Complete training including SMI safety standards and driving demonstration.
- Operate and inspect forklift daily; report maintenance needs.
- Safely fuel, clean (radiator/air filters), and maintain forklift.
- Load/unload trucks and move materials to designated areas.
- Track material load counts and identify cross-contamination risks.
- Assist with plant maintenance, repairs, and housekeeping.
- Report incidents, environmental hazards, and participate in safety investigations.
- Wear required PPE and follow all safety and operational procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications And Requirements
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following.- Forklift* - Electric Pallet Jack* - Hand Operated Pallet Jack* - Other heavy machinery as required*
- Glass processing knowledge, preferred.
- Understand and follow specific oral instructions.
- The ability to complete additional on-site training will be required before these vehicles can be used at an SMI facility.
