Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled shipping and receiving clerk who is able to operate a forklift for metal stair and handrailing company to join our team in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various types of forklifts and/or heavy equipment to facilitate the movement of goods on our business campus . This role is crucial in ensuring timely shipping and receiving operations while maintaining high safety standards and inventory organization.
Duties
•
Operate traditional forklifts, combilift and trucks, to load and unload materials.
•
Move products to designated staging and inventory areas within the warehouse buildings and ensure proper storage.
•
Provide shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring accuracy in documentation and inventory management.
•
Conduct routine inspections of forklifts and other heavy equipment to ensure they are in safe working condition.
•
Collaborate with production supervisor and yard master in order to optimize workflow and maintain organization within the business campus.
•
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while operating equipment to prevent accidents and injuries
Skills
•
Proficient in operating various types of forklifts and other machinery
•
Strong mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation.
•
Experience in shipping and receiving processes within a warehouse setting.
•
Ability to work effectively under pressure, in various weather scenerios (outdoor- year around), while maintaining attention to detail.
•
Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and supervisors.
•
Previous experience in a distribution center or similar environment is preferred.
