Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure the availability of operating personnel by effectively scheduling and coordinating work. Ensure the safe and economical operation of equipment by recognizing problems and taking corrective measures. Contribute toward maintaining the system electrical load by effectively coordinating with Electric System Control during equipment outages. Ensure efficiency of subordinates by assigning job duties, checking progress and reviewing results. Contribute to the availability and disbursement of coal to the unit by ensuring the efficient operation of the coal system. Coordinate, monitor and provide training of operating personnel and conduct weekly performance evaluations of operators in qualifications for job advancements. Assure an effective, efficient and well-motivated employee resource by providing Equal Employment Opportunity in the areas of the hire and promotion of qualified individuals, the training, development and empowerment of employees, and the fair and consistent administration of performance evaluation and discipline, as consistent with Board policy. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations by communicating with the Environmental Service Department and taking corrective actions as necessary. Supervises employee waste handling procedures for domestic, special, hazardous and other waste necessary.
