Job Overview
We are seeking a 3rd Shift Supervisor to oversee daily operations in our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing production processes, ensuring safety compliance, and leading a team of employees to achieve operational goals. This role requires strong leadership skills, a commitment to quality, and the ability to foster a collaborative work environment.
Under guidance of the Operations Managers, the Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating all plant operations, including production, maintenance of the plant, plant equipment and policies and procedures.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
· Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work and in accordance with Safety Policy and OSHA standards.
· Maintain a safe and healthful work environment by practicing safe work habits, good housekeeping procedures and adhering to safety guidelines.
· Work with personnel at all company levels to ensure coordination of purchasing, quality, production and shipping
· Cost completed orders based on final product processed/produced
· Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions
· Interpret specifications, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.
· Inventory and Request supplies based on weekly supply list to miniatous supervisor
· Keep records of employees' attendance and hours worked
· Assist in preparing annual operating and capital expenditure budgets
· Assist manager to resolve complex operations problems
· Confer with management to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments
· Direct and coordinate plant operations within company policies and procedures
· Maintain production/work orders schedule on a daily basis
· Maintain shop supplies and replenish as needed
· Observe work and monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards
· Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
· Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
· Review all completed orders to make sure specifications match original requested order and are accurate.
· Review each line’s orders for the day to evaluate any need or additional assistance/supervision
· Work closely with plant management and fill in as needed
· Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of steel, such as inspectors, machine setters, and fabricators.
· Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
· Supervises a team of Teammates in Plant Operations.
· Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employee; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and disciplining employee.
· Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.
· Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
· Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people, labor relations, and resources.
· Monitoring/Assessing performance of individuals to make improvements or take corrective action, then developed coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge or skills.
· Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
· Able to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms. Able to apply mathematical operations to tasks such as frequency, distribution, analysis of variance. Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Able to compute rates, ratios and percentages
· Knowledge of principles and methods for training, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, on various machinery throughout the plant
· Able to operate standard office machinery (computer, phone, fax, copy machine, etc.)
· Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
· Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
· Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.
· Monitor and review information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems

· Able to effectively communicate, present information and respond to questions from managers, customers and/or other employees, in groups individually
· Minimum of six months supervisory experience in a processing or manufacturing environment, preferred
· The noise level in the work environment is usually medium to high.
