Consolidated Machine and Welding in conjunction with CK Power is looking for aSheet Metal Design Engineerat our Hannibal, MO facility. The Sheet Metal Design Engineer will work directly with customers and suppliers to confirm compliance with manufacturer guidelines and make suggested improvements. In addition, this position will involve working directly with other CK Power engineering team members and manufacturing teams to develop and release new products. The Sheet Metal Design Engineer designs, develops, and oversees the production of sheet metal components and assemblies. Work with a variety of materials to create designs that are functional, durable, and cost-effective.
What Youll Do
• Develop new product designs, specifications, bills of materials (BOMs), drawings, schematics, and other technical information as part of the product development process.
• Establish specifications and criteria for purchased components to facilitate the procurement process, including review of periodic substitution and/or alternative sourcing requests.
• Provide support to the production and quality teams during the manufacturing and testing processes.
• Provide timely and effective customer technical support and process new application project requests.
• Identify root cause and corrective action(s) for design-related engine/product performance issues.
• Responsible for understanding and translating information provided by customer drawings, specifications, and verbal direction into fabrication requirements including part tolerances, critical dimensions, and cosmetic and finishing standards.
• Responsible for preparing technical drawings (blueprints) used to build a variety of fabricated sheet metal parts. The Engineer will also assist shop workers when there is a need for additional instructions on the drawings.
• Responsible for maintaining and storing all technical drawings and their revisions in an organized electronic library.
What Youll Need
5+ years of previous engineering experience performing design, analysis, and testing work.
Have a good understanding of design principles, such as bend radius, tolerances, and material constraints
