Shaft Supervisor

Where will you work: - Esterhazy K3, Saskatchewan, Canada

About the role

The Supervisor, Shaft is responsible for organizing, coordinating, and supervising the activities of the Mine Department loading pocket are, the Mine Shaft and Hoists to ensure planned production tonnages are achieved in safe, efficient manner at a minimal cost.

What will you do?

- Attends and is chairperson for all shaft safety meetings. Implements on-the-job training for cage tenders and hoistmen to ensure that qualified personnel are available in the event of vacation or absent.

- Inspects all shaft, hoist and loading pocket areas to ensure that safe and accepted operating practices are being followed. Keep employees informed of Company and Mines Regulations policy changes

- Coordinates with crew, the hoisting of ore from the mine to the surface to avoid delays to the mine or surface departments

- Promotes and enforces safety regulations, ventilation standards and good housekeeping practices. Directs routine shaft inspections as required by Mines Regulations

- Plans and coordinates repairs to all shaft equipment in order to maintain a continuous operation. Record and approve all maintenance work done on hoists and in shafts in appropriate Mines Regulations logbooks

What you’ll need:

- High School/GED required.

- Maximo experience

- Microsoft Office
