Eagle Propane and Fuels , a family-owned Texas company, is seeking a Truck Service Manager to lead our fleet maintenance program for DOT and non-DOT vehicles and trailers. This role combines hands- on expertise with oversight of our maintenance operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance. Hourly rate depends on experience ($30-$35/hour).
- Develop, set up, and maintain the overall maintenance program
- Ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient performance of the maintenance and operation
- Must be able to work independently of direct supervision and achieve expected performance
- Must be able to perform a variety of skilled duties which may involve inspections, diagnosis, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on CMV, trailers, and over various equipment
- Schedule and perform required preventive maintenance on various types of equipment
- Diagnose and perform needed repairs on various types of equipment
- Document and maintain required paperwork in compliance with DOT mandates including Pre/Post Trip Inspections and Repair Order Forms
- Work seamlessly with drivers, employees, management, and vendors to achieve optimal vehicle availability
- Ability to help and diagnose problems over the phone at times
- Have familiarity with the oil & gas industry and experience around working on heavy equipment
- Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures and report any unsafe activity to supervisor
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve company goals
- Provide leadership and knowledge to others through example by helping teammates achieve the task at hand
- Must have 3-5 years’ experience as a heavy equipment/diesel mechanic working with and able to implement a full fleet service management program, with leadership and good communication skills to the other members of the organization.
- Ideally would have knowledge of bulk fuels, oils, lubes, and propane operations
- Ideally applicant would have experience running a maintenance program
- Must have the majority of their own tools broadly
- Must have valid US Driver’s License- Class A CDL with T, X endorsement preferred but not required
