Power Systems West is looking for an organized, service minded individual to be a Service Manager for our Generator Service Technicians, covering the Utah market area. Our ideal candidate is a leader who has worked in fast paced service environment with varying competing demands from customers, service personnel, sales staff, and field staff.
Power Systems West (PSW) is an Oregon based, family-owned business with a 70-year history and has been a KOHLER POWER distributor for the last 30 years. Offering quality brands like KOHLER® and Atlas Copco, the PSW team provides new equipment, service, parts, and rental power solutions for commercial, municipal, and residential facilities that require emergency generator back-up power.
Our Service Manager works closely with our customers, service technicians, coordinators and customers both internal and external. Our technicians are provided extensive on-line and in person KOHLER factory level training.
· Oversee scheduling of repairs and preventative maintenance jobs by Service Coordinators to ensure team of technicians are properly dispatched to jobs and scheduled within the required timeframe set by our customers
· Manage Work in Process on a daily basis with Service coordinators and Technicians
· Develop and Coach Technicians and Service Coordinators to ensure Efficiency and Accuracy
Manage job issues and help resolve billing disputes
· Manage service repair Quoting performed by Service Coordinators
Review and Approve Service Technician hours on a daily basis in payroll system, to ensure accuracy and
· Review and Approve all Service Jobs from the prior day to send to Billing Dept for final invoicing
Coordinate with Service Sales Team to ensure contract requirements are met and service levels are maintained
· Oversee new Service Technician training plans, to continue growth and development of team members
· Review team financials on a monthly basis with Operations Director to ensure costs are managed and unbilled hours are reasonable
· Work closely with our Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to ensure facility is in compliance and safety and environmental concerns are addressed quickly
· Coordinate scheduling of branch Safety Meetings with EH&S Specialist and conduct weekly Safety and attend monthly Safety Committee Meetings
· 3-5 years experience in the generator industry preferred.
· 3-5 years of management experience with a team greater than 8 team members
· Through understanding of Technician Efficiency and Productivity
· Experience with Hiring, onboarding, and training staff in various roles
· Excellent understanding and execution of prioritization and sense of urgency
· Excellent computer skills, including Excel and email program, such as Outlook
· Mechanical interest and or work experience in Automotive, Engines, forklifts, Electrical field or other related industry is a plus, but not required
This role will be based in our SLC, UT location and will work from the office on a daily basis to interact with and support our team.
