The base salary for this position is dependent upon experience and location.
Location: Orange, CT - (In office role, 5 days per week)
This position is responsible for the design, implementation, and support of the Avangrid Renewables Corporate Infrastructure and associated applications, with emphasis on current infrastructure around Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity. The Systems Administrator must be motivated, responsible, and have the ability to take multiple projects from inception to completion with limited supervision. This is a full time, on-site position supporting hosted systems with some on call duties.
- Create and support stable network and server environment.
- Work closely with the application support team to enable solid IT infrastructure.
- Perform, coordinate, and manage tasks to ensure business success of the application environment.
- Design, implement, and maintain solid information security, paying special attention to regulatory issues as regards NERC CIPs.
- Work closely with both technical and non-technical staff to create a resilient and highly-available infrastructure for systems operations.
- Create and perform best practices for server stability & patching, backups, test, development, and the like.
- Manage SAN/NAS storage across multiple disparate devices and protocols.
- DBA knowledge for SQL and Oracle environments.
- Bachelor's degree, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years’ experience in a technical support role.
- 3+ years Microsoft Active Directory experience (Structure, GPO's, Health, etc.)
- 2+ years VMWare ESX administration, over multiple SAN/WAN protocols, in clustered and non-clustered environments
- 2+ years Windows 2000/2003 system administration or MCSE.
- 2+ years Citrix Metaframe v4.0 or above, including external Gateway configurations and token authentication.
- 1+ year Information Security Experience or CISSP certification.
- 1+ year Symantec Antivirus using centralized management tools or Symantec Enterprise Vault (mail/file vaulting technologies/methodologies).
- Strong history of managing complex efforts with demanding customers.
- 2+ years Backup System Experience (Symantec Netbackup/Backup Exec).
- 1+ years Network Appliance configuration/support (Filer/Shelf Infrastructure, Caching Appliances, Operations Manager, iSCSI).
- 1+ years SMS or other application-push technology.
- Knowledge in IBM Filenet Technical Architecture and Design.
