Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly-motivated Senior Structural Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and analysis of Buckling Restrained Braces (BRBs) and their connection details. You will work closely with structural engineers, fabricators, and project managers to ensure our products are seamlessly integrated into complex building projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in seismic design/connections, and a deep understanding of relevant building codes.
- Collaborate with clients and other design professionals to develop innovative and efficient BRB bracing solutions per design code requirements and BRBF expertise.
- Prepare project-specific design drawings, BRB and connection calculations, and submittal packages for review.
- Review architectural, structural, and other design drawings to ensure proper implementaton of BRBs to meet project criteria.
- Conduct quality checks, review shop drawings, and participate in R&D planning and testing.
- Serve as a technical expert on seismic design codes, such as the International Building Code (IBC), ASCE 7, AISC341. CSA S16 is also desired.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and product performance.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. A Master's degree is highly desirable.
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required. Structural Engineer (S.E.) license is preferred.
- Experience: 4+ years of experience in structural engineering, with significant experience in seismic design of steel structures and connections.- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with structural analysis software (e.g., RAM, ETABS, RISA 3D/Floor or equivalent).
- Experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of seismic design codes and design principles.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and client interaction.
