Senior Staff Accountant

Under the supervision of the Manager – Operational Accounting US, the holder of this position will take ownership of the complete accounting cycle tasks for various companies.

⚡ You Will Play An Important Role In

- Prepare month-end, quarter-end, and year-end files according to the group’s procedures, standards, and internal control rules;

- Provide support to the Manager in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements;

- Participate in the production of the budget for the entities under their charge;

- Ensure the reliability of data by meeting the deadlines set by the group and highlighting discrepancies;

- Collaborate in optimizing methods, tools, and processes;

- Work closely with the team to ensure interventions align with business objectives;

- Collaborate closely with all departments;

- Participate in ad hoc analyses performed by other Boralex teams over the companies under your accounting control;

- Perform all related accounting tasks.

💡 To Succeed In This Position, You Need

- Hold active CPA license (asset);

- 5 to 7 years of relevant experience (public accounting experience is an valuable asset);

- Experience in U.S. GAAP financial statement preparation (including disclosures) and analytical review of reporting produced (essential)

- Knowledge and experience with US GAAP standards (complex topics- essential);

- Experience implementing new accounting standards (an asset);

- Knowledge of IFRS standards (an asset );

- Experience in renewable energy industry (an asset)

- Ability to translate financial results to digestible summaries for stakeholders (essential)

- Experience in business acquisitions (an asset);

- Knowledge of the Office suite (essential);

- Knowledge of SAP and Longview (an asset);

- Demonstrate autonomy, initiative, and the ability to advance complex files;

- A good team spirit with strong analytical skills;

- Rigor, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple files simultaneously;

- Respect for objectives and deadlines.
