As a
Senior Program Manager,
you
lead the charge
of
high-impact, strategic transmission projects.
You’ll
work across departments to bring major initiatives to life—developing strategies, building stakeholder relationships, and ensuring alignment with our Capital Plan. This is a high-visibility role where your leadership will directly influence the future of energy infrastructure in the region.
The
role
is located in Hartford, CT.
Essential Functions:
•Drive strategic transmission project development from feasibility through permitting and construction, shaping internal policies and execution frameworks.
•Take initiative and lead with autonomy,
identifying
opportunities, solving problems proactively, and advancing projects with minimal oversight.
•Demonstrate a self-starter mindset, continuously improving processes and championing innovation across teams.
•Navigate ambiguity with confidence, using sound judgment and strategic thinking to guide decisions and project direction.
•Lead cross-functional collaboration with Planning, Engineering, Siting, Regulatory Affairs, Legal, and other departments to align
with
project goals and execution.
•Define and track success metrics in partnership with leadership to measure project impact and ensure continuous improvement.
•Develop and manage early-phase project schedules and budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic
objectives
and resource planning.
•Monitor and interpret evolving energy policies,
identifying
trends, risks, and opportunities that influence project strategy and execution.
•Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders,
facilitating
alignment, information-sharing, and collaborative decision-making.
•Represent Eversource Transmission at public meetings, regulatory hearings, and industry forums, serving as a trusted and knowledgeable spokesperson.
•Support the development of business cases and explore innovative strategies to advance complex or high-impact initiatives.
•Engage in stakeholder outreach, building trust and transparency through effective communication and relationship management.
•Educate and empower internal teams,
foster
understanding of strategic project
goals,
and
encourage
cross-departmental collaboration.
•Ensure compliance with safety and procurement standards, vetting all project strategies through the lens of operational excellence and corporate policy.
in industry committees and working groups, contributing to broader energy sector
initiatives
and
representing
Eversource’s leadership in transmission development.
Technical Knowledge/Skills
: Proven ability to lead complex, multi-phase infrastructure projects in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
*Energy
Systems Expertise
: Strong understanding of electric transmission and distribution systems, grid modernization, clean energy integration, and regulatory frameworks.
Skilled in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution
.
•Analytical & Policy Insight
: Excellent analytical skills for evaluating feasibility and risk; adept at interpreting state and federal energy policies, including FERC and ISO/RTO operations.
•Communication & Engagement
: Exceptional communicator with experience in public speaking, stakeholder engagement, and translating technical concepts for diverse audiences.
•Technical Writing & Tools
: Proficient in technical writing, Microsoft Office Suite, and collaboration platforms such as SharePoint
and Teams.
Education:
•Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, business discipline, related degree, or equivalent experience
Experience:
•Minimum of ten (10) years of related experience, including successful project development
•Experience developing competitive infrastructure projects and knowledge of electric transmission and distribution systems preferred
Licenses &
Certifications:
•Valid Driver’s license is
required
Working Conditions:
•Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as
required

The annual salary range for this position is:
$133,170.00-$147,970.00
