Position Overview
CARIAN is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex electric transmission, substation, and distribution projects. This leadership role will oversee multi-disciplinary teams and manage high-visibility projects from planning through completion. The ideal candidate is a utility-savvy leader with strong operational oversight, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of capital project delivery.
Responsibilities
•Own and lead all phases of project delivery: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and close-out
•Manage scope, budget, schedules, risks, and reporting across multiple large-scale projects
•Coordinate across internal client departments, vendors, contractors, and design teams
•Oversee contract administration, procurement coordination, and construction readiness
•Lead field walkdowns, reviews, and risk mitigation planning
•Ensure all work adheres to safety standards, regulatory compliance, and client requirements
•Track and report KPIs and dashboard metrics to client leadership
•Mentor junior PMs and support team development and knowledge sharing
•Serve as a primary liaison with client leadership and key functional stakeholders
Qualifications
•Minimum 12 years of experience in utility project management, engineering, or construction
•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline
•Demonstrated experience leading complex capital projects in electric T&D or related areas
•Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills
•Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and working across functions
•Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools
•PMP Certification (Required)
•Ability to conduct client site visits as needed
Preferred Qualifications
•Prior experience supporting outage planning, system upgrades, or EPC delivery
•Familiarity with permitting, environmental, or land management aspects of T&D projects
