About the Role

At TAE Power Solutions, this Senior Product Manager role is a high-impact position focused on identifying market needs and turning them into real, deployable energy storage solutions. You will lead the charge in defining what we build, why we build it, and how we deliver value to customers and the business. Working closely with engineering, commercial, and marketing teams, you’ll help shape the direction of our current product portfolio to maximize its market impact, while laying the groundwork for future product opportunities.

This role is ideal for someone who handles ambiguity well, enjoys translating complexity into clarity, and wants to play a central role in shaping the future of BESS offerings. You’ll be responsible for setting product vision, aligning teams, and making critical decisions that keep development progressing with customer success and company strategy.‍

At TAE Power Solutions, we consider a wide range of factors when making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and job-related knowledge, training; licenses and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements depending on the position offered (non-Sr., Sr., Lead or Manager). The compensation range for this role is $150,000-$170,000


Duties and Responsibilities:

As a Senior Product Manager at TAE Power Solutions, you’ll play a strategic and technical role in shaping the direction of our energy storage products by translating market insights and customer segment needs into clear, prioritized roadmaps that drive alignment, innovation, and competitive advantage.


Your responsibilities will include:

Champion product-market fit by defining product vision, clarifying requirements, and ensuring teams stay focused on delivering what matters most for each market segment.

Align product strategy across our current BESS portfolio. Includes identifying what each product needs to maximize market success across key segments like data centers, C&I, utilities, and EV charging.
Refine and evolve product roadmaps to reflect segment-specific needs and real-world priorities.
Prioritize must-have product features and configurations based on customer conversations, competitor benchmarking, and internal insights.
Define market requirements and key use cases across segments such as EV charging, data centers, and commercial/industrial sites, with applications ranging from microgrids and Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) to Behind the Meter (BTM) and Front of the Meter (FTM) deployments.
Collaborate with engineering, commercial, and marketing teams to align roadmap priorities and ensure market-driven execution.
Translate voice-of-customer insights (gathered through customer interactions, industry knowledge, and internal experience) into actionable product requirements.
Monitor relevant regulatory, incentive, and policy developments (e.g., ITC, NEM, tariffs) and integrate them into product and segment planning.
Required Education & Experience
5-10 years of experience in product development, with at least 3 years in the energy or power management sector (e.g.- stationary batteries, power conversion electronics, grid power management, DERs, renewables)
Bachelor’s Degree in technical field (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields)
Strong understanding of energy economics and utility rate structures (e.g.-capacity adequacy, ancillary services, arbitrage, demand charges, PPAs)
Strong skills in aligning strategic goals with market needs
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver technical products to market
Experience in early-stage or startup environments that encourage innovation and adaptability without a rigid corporate structure
Deep familiarity with solution-based (hardware and software) BESS product development lifecycles
An awareness of BESS compliance requirements (e.g.- UL 9540, NFPA 855)
Understanding of Automatic Generation Control (e.g.- primary frequency response, secondary frequency response, voltage support)


Location & Travel

TAE Power Solution’s headquarters are in Orange County, CA. Candidates may work remotely if within a direct flight to LAX or SNA; however, local candidates are preferred (if you are local to the Irvine area and in a commutable distance the role would be hybrid, not remote).
Periodic travel required for hands-on product interaction and in-person meetings – expect travel demands to increase in line with business growth.
