Job Description
Summary: Responsible for the operation of high-pressure Boilers, Turbine Generators, Gas Turbine/HRSG combination, Air Compressors, Demineralized Water plant, and all associated systems and equipment supporting the EBP complex. Responsible for assigning daily tasks to their work group. Responsible for tracking the jobs worked and training hours for their group. Ensures that their work group follows all standard procedures and company policies. Gives feedback and input to the Manager for performance appraisals. Is the responsible person on-site during hours when the manager is offsite.
•
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•
Perform routine boiler room and water treatment system equipment inspections and performance including documentation of operational data, checking and adjusting of controls on equipment as necessary
•
Oversee the proper operation of the water treatment plant, boilers, turbines, and distribution systems with their shift operations team, ensuring all team members adhere to the proper procedures & guidelines
•
Assist with repairs as needed
•
Conduct sampling and testing of chemical treatment systems to include the unloading of bulk chemicals
•
Provide and direct operating support for equipment shutdowns and startups including securing of equipment using standard LO/TO procedures
•
Assist and direct the work team in maintaining equipment in a clean and operable condition
•
Assist with the development of standard operating procedures
Experience:
•
A minimum of 5 years experience working with steam boilers, preferably high-pressure boilers and steam turbines. Knowledge of electrical generation systems is a plus.
•
Minimum of 5 years experience operating gas turbine/HRSG preferred.
•
Must hold a minimum of a City of Rochester S-2 (Stationary Engineers) license, to obtain an S-1 license within one year.
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma/GED
Qualifications
•
Must be proficient in a DCS (distributive control system) and Ovation control systems.
•
Must have a working knowledge of Maximo, Tags Pro, Compliant Pro, and Pi software systems
•
Must have a valid drivers’ license

Work Environment
•
Industrial environment.
•
Working outside in all weather conditions from street level to roof tops.
•
Working inside in extreme conditions from basements to rooftops and above.
•
Possibility of temperatures ranging from extreme cold to over 100 degrees.
•
Work will take place in chemical areas, noisy areas and areas that may be very dirty.
•
Working a rotating shift schedule
Physical Demands
•
Position can require strenuous effort, climbing ladders or stairs, and crawling to accomplish equipment isolation and movement of material
•
Lifting and carrying a variety of equipment weighing up to 50 lbs is sometimes necessary
•
Potential to enter manholes (Confined spaces)
