Company Overview:Borealis Mining Company, LLC, is focused on becoming a Nevada-focused mid-tier gold producer, bringing the Borealis Mine into development as a low-cost, high margin gold producer.
Scope: The Company is seeking an experienced Senior Mine Planning Engineer to lead short-, medium-, and long-range planning at the Borealis Mine. This is a hands-on technical role that supports daily production while driving strategic mine design and optimization. The ideal candidate is adaptable, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where engineers have broad responsibilities
· Develop short-range, medium-range, and annual mine plans aligned with production and cost targets.
· Mentor, train and oversee Mine Technician who will produce drill and blast designs, short-range mine plans and daily ops plans.
· Produce and update pit designs, dumps, leach pad stacking plans and haul road designs.
· Generate drill and blast designs, maintain powder factors, and track blast performance.
· Provide daily production engineering support, including tracking, reconciliations, and dig plan updates.
· Work closely with geology on ore control, dig limits, ore routing, and dilution/ore loss management.
· Support budgeting, forecasting, and life-of-mine planning scenarios.
· Collaborate with survey and operations to ensure accurate execution of designs.
· Contribute to technical reporting, regulatory submissions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
· B. S. Degree in Mining Engineering or related field discipline.
· Minimum five (5) years of experience in open pit planning on producing mines; gold preferred.
· Open pit optimization, design, production engineering and scheduling experience is a necessity.
· Proficiency with at least one major mine planning software suite.
· Solid understanding of blasting, geotechnical constraints, and operational considerations.
· Excellent safety record with ability to demonstrate leadership.
· Ability to work in a small-team environment with both office and field responsibilities.
Employment Status: Full-time, exempt position under the FLSA guidelines, competitive base salary and benefit package. Relocation package negotiable. Must be authorized to work in the United States.

· Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion
· Able to wear and demonstrate to employees the use of personal protective equipment including hardhat, steel toed footwear, safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves (rubber, leather & cloth), and/or any other equipment required to do the job assigned safely.
· Able to operate a telephone and mine phone/radio with sufficient voice and hearing to carry on a conversation for the purpose of communicating information, to management.
· Ability to hear sufficiently to distinguish various pitches of warning alarms.
· Able to lift up to 50 pounds periodically.
· Must possess a valid Driver’s license and be able to operate a light vehicle.
· Ability driving to remote work areas, attending meetings where scheduled, and accessing various areas of the mine site.
