This is a full-time position based at the McIlvenna Bay site working a 4 days on 3 days off rotation. This position is open to candidates who reside in close proximity to our mine site or who are willing to relocate.

The Mine Planning Engineer reports to the Senior Mine Engineer and is responsible for carrying out a wide range of engineering functions, including, but not limited to mine planning, drill and blast, ventilation, short and medium-term mine designs, stockpile, mine analysis and production reporting. The role will have direct involvement and communication with staff from other departments, including Geology, Metallurgy, Maintenance and Operations.
- Deliver weekly mining schedules that safely achieve budget and align with medium and long term plans.
- Optimize stope designs to maximize recovery and minimize dilution.
- Create and maintain medium term (3 to 12 month) schedules that support safe production targets.
- Review and approve engineering work such as forecasts, schedules, development and production designs, ventilation and dewatering plans.
- Prepare trade off studies to support Mine Operations and Technical Services decisions.
- Maintain current underground services plans for power, water, paste fill and compressed air.
- Support QAQC for blasting, mining, paste fill, dewatering and drilling activities.
- Provide engineering support to maintain safe and efficient underground services.
- Lead mining reconciliation and maintain a strong stope reconciliation program.
- Produce or review weekly, monthly and annual production reports.
- Develop and improve standard processes and documentation for Technical Services.
- Tertiary qualification in Mine Engineering (B Eng Mining) or equivalent.
- Minimum of 4 years experience in underground hard rock mining.
- Proficiency with Deswik mining suite (Sched, DB, CAD, IS).
- Registered Professional Engineer (P Eng) in a Canadian province and in good standing.
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 suite.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross functional teams.
- Ability to work in a dynamic mining environment and adapt to change.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and a strong commitment to safety culture.
- Effective organizational and time management skills to manage shifting priorities.
We offer a competitive starting salary range of $110,000 - $120,000/year based on experience and qualifications. Annual discretionary short term incentive award at a percentage of base salary, rewarding exceptional contributions to team and company success.
