What you’ll do:
Reporting to the Store Manager , the Senior Home Centre Clerk is responsible for delivering excellent customer experiences, in alignment with Swan Valley Co-op’s guiding statements, while providing guidance and support to the Home Centre on a broad variety of administrative, accounting, inventory, and file maintenance related areas.
Core responsibilities include:
•Be a liaison and public relations representative for the Co-op within the communities we serve.
•Deliver excellent customer service that is fast, friendly and efficient. Provide customer service as the first priority over other duties, including processing customer orders and purchases using the point of sale terminal to meet established productivity and service standards. Packaging products and completing cash reconciliations may be required.

•Complete administrative tasks in a timely and accurate manner that are required for the Home Centre, including but not limited to:
•Assist with cash administration including daily cash reconciliations
•Checking balance of customer accounts and receiving payments
•Maintain and replenish office supplies
5. Perform accounting responsibilities including receiving, preparing, and processing claims, as well as :
•Accounts Receivable (A/R) responsibilities as necessary
•Interdepartmental transfers
•As required, will assist the Finance team with any financial issues/tasks related to the Home Centre
•To provide support in the areas of inventory controls, operating policies, buying, receiving, displaying, pricing, selling, and claiming as these relate to the Home Centre; this includes the physical receipt of inventory. Other inventory related tasks including:
+ Inventory reconciliations
+ Assisting with inventory reports
+ Maintain receiving records for all products carried in the Home Centre.
•File Maintenance duties:
+ Maintain promo pricing, start and stop dates to 100% accuracy
+ Generating shelf labels and sign cards as price changes occur or as requested
+ Prepare tags and signage; place them appropriately throughout the store.
+ Become an expert on operations of all back office computer programs in order to maintain an accurate price file to ensure scanning accuracy.
•Willingness to participate in personal development and training focusing on competencies required for the position.
•Comply with company policies and procedures, professional standards and applicable laws and regulations.
•Observe safety measures and report hazardous conditions immediately to the Store Manager.

•You have strong data entry skills and extensive computer experience with point-of-sale systems.
•Experience in accounting and general bookkeeping is preferred.
•You are well organized and capable of attaining a high level of production with minimal supervision.
