Reporting to the Vice President, Finance, the Senior Financial Analyst or Manager will oversee financial planning and analysis for a portfolio of US renewable power developers and independent power producers. The successful candidate will be responsible for the quarterly performance reporting and annual business planning processes, provide financial modelling support, and partner with the investment team to provide value-added strategic analysis.
- Review, challenge, and enhance business plans, forecasts, and quarterly financial reporting prepared by portfolio companies;
- Monitor and analyze key performance metrics against business plans, and highlight key drivers of variances;
- Build and maintain robust financial models and sensitivity analyses, including discounted cash flow valuation and IRR analysis;
- Develop standardized reporting formats and manage information flow between portfolio companies and Brookfield;
- Prepare executive-ready presentations for senior management and board members, synthesizing complex information into clear insights;
- Mentor portfolio company finance teams and act as the conduit between these teams and key internal stakeholders, including Brookfield public companies and private funds;
- 3–5 years of progressive work experience in finance, consulting, or a related field.
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Professional designation (CPA, CFA, MBA, or similar) considered an asset.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (financial modelling) and MS PowerPoint (executive presentations).
- Knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS / US GAAP) is considered a strong asset.
- Prior experience in power, utilities, infrastructure, or renewable energy is considered an asset.
- Quick learner with the ability to understand diverse business drivers in a short timeframe;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail;
- Effective communicator with the ability to influence and build trust with senior stakeholders;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce concise, impactful executive materials;
- Strong business acumen and the ability to connect financial outcomes to operational and strategic drivers;
- Organized, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment;
- Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
