We are looking for a Senior Energy & Sustainability Analyst to strengthen our technical team. In this role, you will complete ASHRAE energy audits (Levels I–III), build and calibrate energy models, perform building condition assessments, and support clients from the early feasibility stage through to project implementation. You will also help organizations identify cost-effective upgrades, secure funding incentives, and reduce GHG emissions.
This position reports to the President and is designed to evolve into a leadership opportunity, with the chance to mentor junior team members and influence the growth of our firm’s technical services.
- Lead ASHRAE Level I–III energy audits for commercial, residential, and institutional facilities.
- Develop and calibrate energy models using platforms such as IES, eQuest, or RETScreen to forecast savings and validate retrofit performance.
- Provide capital planning support by preparing business cases, reviewing technologies, and drafting incentive applications.
- Manage end-to-end project lifecycles: feasibility, vendor selection, implementation oversight, and results verification.
- Improve efficiency of internal processes through templates, automation, and reporting tools.
- Assess energy conservation measures including HVAC retrofits, VFD installations, chiller/boiler replacements, and lighting system upgrades.
- Draft detailed reports and deliver presentations that communicate energy savings, cost reductions, and emission impacts.
- Assist clients with compliance requirements, benchmarking programs, and energy disclosure mandates.
- Stay on top of emerging technologies and develop decision-support tools for clients.
- Work closely with internal colleagues and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Contribute articles, insights, or presentations to demonstrate thought leadership in sustainability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or another technical discipline).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in energy consulting or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with ASHRAE Level II/III audits.
- Proficiency in energy modeling tools (IES, eQuest, RETScreen, etc.).
- Advanced Excel knowledge, including macros/VBA.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills with the ability to explain complex findings clearly.
- Professional credentials such as P.Eng, CEM, or CMVP are considered strong assets.
