- Demonstrate exemplary safety awareness and proficiency in mitigating safety concerns in field operations. Oversee daily tailgate meetings to reinforce and enhance safety protocols. Oversee comprehensive safety documentation including but not limited to job safety analyses, risk assessments, and equipment and workplace inspections.
- Develop and execute geochemical and (rarely) geophysical surveys and prospecting activities.
- Supervise geological core processing and implement QA/QC protocols and procedures.
- Direct and oversee drilling activities, including drill site setup, progress tracking, and ensuring adherence to safety standards.
- Mentor and supervise geology interns, lower-level geologists and field support staff, enhancing their skills and ensuring their effective contribution to project objectives.
- Maintain rigorous quality assurance protocols to ensure accuracy and reliability of data captured during exploration programs, aligning with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide strong geological mapping and interpretation, contributing to the overall understanding of project sites.
- Provide strong understanding of geological modelling practices in Leapfrog Geo, Maptek Vulcan, or similar.
- Provide confident project and deliverable management of field programs and office-based tasks. Oversee lower-level Geologists in project preparation, logistics, and budget management. Generate targets using collected field data.
- Oversight of data acquisition, data compilation, and report writing. Data validation and interpretation for input into geological models.
- Provide support to lower-level Geologists in drafting assessment and technical reports and maps.
- Draft and sign off on assessment and Technical Reports to JORC, NI 43-101, SK-1300 standards. Independently complete technical reports that meet company standards and ensure all reports are internally reviewed prior to completion and presentation.
- Building and maintaining relationships with potential clients, partners, and industry influencers. Attending industry events, conferences, and trade shows to connect with key stakeholders and participating in business networking groups and associations.
- Identifying and reaching out to potential clients through various channels (e.g., email, phone, social media). Developing and managing a pipeline of potential business opportunities.
- Qualifying leads and assessing their potential value to the organization.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty. Conducting regular follow-ups and check-ins with clients and addressing client concerns and feedback promptly.
- Developing and executing marketing campaigns to promote the company’s products and services. Utilizing digital marketing strategies, such as content marketing and social media marketing.
- Creating promotional materials, such as brochures, case studies, and whitepapers.
- Senior Geologist I - Minimum 8 years prior experience in mineral exploration or related field.
- Professional Geologist (P.G./CPG) with ASBOG, AIPG regulatory body, and be a member in good standing.
- Standard First Aid and CPR level C certified.
- Confident decision-making overseeing projects, able to make independent decisions.
- Familiarity and application of the Dahrouge Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Plan and the Professional Practice Management Plan.
- Exposure to harsh weather, terrain, and potential wildlife hazards, contributing to physical exertion and discomfort.
- Core logging involves lifting up to 60 lbs and maintaining focus under pressure.
- Generally controlled, with some pressure during deadlines.
- Minimal hazards compared to the field, though discomfort may arise from prolonged computer work.
