Senior Engineer, Tailings and Geotechnical

Reporting to the Manager, Tailings and Geotechnical Governance, the Senior Engineer, Tailings & Geotechnical is responsible for supporting Teck’s central tailings and geotechnical team and Teck’s portfolio of projects, operating sites, and legacy sites, with a focus on governance. This role provides key guidance, mentoring and training to Teck’s teams of tailings and geotechnical professionals, supports development and implementation of governance and stewardship programs, and offers technical support to select tailings and geotechnical projects. The scope includes tailings and water retaining structures, open pits, and mine waste management facilities. This position can be based out of Vancouver, BC, or Santiago, Chile.

We are looking for an outstanding and self-motivated individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, strong organizational and task prioritization skills, a proven track record leading via influence, and the flexibility to handle changing priorities and travel both across Canada and internationally. Salary Range: CAD $119,340 - $147,420

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
