Senior Electrician

Bald Mountain is an open-pit mine with a large estimated mineral resource in the largest private mining land package in the U.S. The mine is located in White Pine County, one of the best mining jurisdictions in the world, along the southern extension of the prolific Carlin trend. Bald Mountain and the nearby Round Mountain mine make up Kinross’ Nevada operations.

Bald Mountain is an important contributor to the economy of northeastern Nevada and maintains a comprehensive environmental strategy including wildlife protection, habitat recovery and education.

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Process Maintenance General Supervisor and Area Process Maintenance Supervisors, the incumbent undertakes the maintenance of the Process Heap Leach Plants and associated equipment. Incumbent will also maintain substations, transformers, and other electrical duties of the shop area. Process Electrical experience preferred but not required. Should be proficient with NEC Code and able to do Plant and Site Electrical work as required.

Essential Functions

The successful candidate will maintain and repair electrical systems in Heap Leach Processing Plants and associated processing equipment. Experience with high voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, and protection relays. Experience with Instrumentation and PLC's also preferred. High voltage cable terminations, splices and miscellaneous electrical repairs. Building and Grounds electrical maintenance including wash bay, fuel islands, Sub Station Maintenance and Power distribution lines.
