Your contribution!
Reporting to the Vice President – Technical Services, the Senior Director, in coordination with Engineering, will be responsible for coordinating all activities related to wind and solar resource assessment, taking into account technological developments in the main components of solar and wind farms. They will also coordinate the use of technological tools such as satellite data sources, lidars, aerial photos, GIS, and resource assessment software. They will also coordinate the technical team to ensure the purchase, installation, and maintenance of on-site measurement equipment such as measurement towers, lidars, and other technologies related to resource measurement.
Your day-to-day!
•Lead and conduct technical activities related to wind and solar farm development, including, but not limited to:
•Ensure measurement programs by providing for the supply, installation, and maintenance of various measurement equipment, including the coordination of external resources;
•Ensure resource modeling;
•Ensure preliminary and advanced configuration of wind and/or solar farms and calculate energy production;
•In coordination with civil engineering, ensure the preliminary positioning of access roads and production equipment, including the electrical substation;
•In coordination with civil and electrical engineering, ensure the integration and connection of the collection network in the preliminary plan;
•Design and management of the power curve measurement test campaign;
•Conduct specialized studies as needed;
•Conduct the technical aspects of due diligence activities in connection with an acquisition;
•Assist the Construction group in evaluating construction and procurement costs for wind and solar farms;
•Act as a technical specialist for financial partners and other stakeholders in wind and solar projects;
•Participate in identifying, evaluating, and selecting manufacturers, equipment suppliers, and contractors to achieve quality, cost, deadline, and compliance objectives;
•Support the preparation of proposals for various calls for Requests For Proposals;
•Manage employees (roles and responsibilities, coaching, supervision, feedback, evaluation);
•Participate in public hearings or other public presentations and forums as required;
•Respond to various needs within the company in the field of wind and solar energy.
Your skills, our requirements!
•Engineering degree from a recognized university;
•Over 10 years of experience directly related to the wind and solar industries;
•At least 3 years of experience in a management position;
•Good experience in conducting comprehensive assessments of wind and solar energy potential;
•In-depth knowledge of meteorology and wind and solar modeling software;
•Ability to effectively communicate technical or meteorological concepts to an internal audience, both technical and non-technical, in concrete and understandable terms;
•Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to support and collaborate effectively with people from different disciplines;
•Adaptability and flexibility to handle deadline pressure and changing priorities;
•Ability to prioritize and independently manage multiple tasks and projects and meet deadlines;
•Bilingualism (French and English, written and spoken) is required to ensure collaboration with different stakeholders outside of Québec on a regular basis.

•The position is based in the company's Longueuil (Quebec) headquarters, a few steps from the Longueuil-Université de Sherbrooke metro station.
•This position is a M4 level.
