Job Summary
The Manufacturing Cost Accountant provides essential accounting support to manufacturing and operations teams. This role partners with operations management to enhance efficiency, ensure financial accuracy, and support continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing facilities. A strong focus is placed on developing and refining reporting, analyzing variances, and improving manufacturing processes and financial controls.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
•Collaborate with operations management to advise on and improve operational processes.
•Present and analyze monthly manufacturing performance results.
•Conduct monthly actual vs. plan variance analysis.
•Evaluate product costing, including variances related to purchased and manufactured goods.
•Support the transition to a standard costing environment.
•Perform and report on periodic inventory audits (Work-in-Process, Finished Goods, Raw Materials).
•Review Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routings for accuracy and efficiency.
•Enhance the accuracy and efficiency of manufacturing and financial reporting.
•Participate in special projects and assignments as required.
Education & Experience Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
•Minimum of 5 years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
Job Requirements:
•CPA or CMA certification preferred.
•Strong understanding of SOX compliance and US GAAP.
•Experience with ERP systems and solid knowledge of MRP (Material Requirements Planning).
•Demonstrated expertise in standard costing.
