POSITION SUMMARY:
Marathon Petroleum Company LP has an opportunity for a Senior Commercial Sourcing Advisor within SC-Midstream-TRM (Transport, Rail & Marine)! This position will be based out of the San Antonio, TX, or Findlay, OH, office. The Commercial Sourcing Advisor’s primary responsibility is to support the development, management, and execution of strategic contracting and sourcing initiatives for Rail Operations. This is done by serving in a commercial advisory role to minimize risk in supply chain processes that support day-to-day business operations and strategy development. The successful candidate should be a self-starter, conduct market analysis, develop bid packages, analyze proposals using a total cost of ownership methodology, establish strategic business relationships with key suppliers, and validate cost savings. The ideal candidate would have strong contracting background and be able to thrive in a dynamic environment where needs are both planned and unplanned. The Midstream segment which this role supports is within MPLX, MPC’s sponsored master limited partnership. MPLX transports, stores, distributes and markets crude oil and refined products via refining logistics assets, pipelines, terminals, towboats, and barges; gather, process and transport natural gas; and gather, transport, fractionate, store and market natural gas liquids.KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:* Develops contracting strategies to establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers and ensure service, commercial terms, and strategy optimization. Leads the development and implementation of regional/local sourcing strategies, decision summaries based on sourcing event and negotiations outcomes.
