The Bid/Commercial Manager – AC Substation (ACS) Projects will be responsible for leading the inquiry to order process, and providing high quality Grid Solutions projects proposals to our Customers in Canada and the United Sates In this role, you will be responsible for the overall proposal generation and associated risk review process, per Grid Solutions Deal Risk Management process (Policy 5.0), with accountability for submitting proposals on time and per customer requirement and meeting quality, process compliance and business objectives.Job Description
Essential Responsibilities as the Bid/Commercial Manager – ACS, you will:
•Responsible for the development of complete proposals, working in close cooperation with the sales team, the ACS execution team, sourcing, legal and other functions
•Interface with internal and external customers, identify customer needs.
•Ensure proper engagement with customer throughout the tendering phase, respond to customers clarifications timely.
•Engage subcontractors & partners to facilitate the bid development
•Engage with OTR functions during tendering phase to develop scope, PMP, PQP, PEP, schedule, Risk management and should cost.
•Ensure the commercial and technical aspects of the proposal are complete and compliant with the Customer requirements, and present the most competitive solutions
•Lead Deal Structure development and maximize Grid Solutions product pull-through as well as support cross selling the broader GE portfolio
- Work closely with the Region Sales teams as a key partner in the strategy development to create winning proposals and meeting or exceeding the region’s orders plan - Support Market Level Pricing Indicators, target pricing and Pricing Strategy
•Support the ACS strategy in meeting segment orders OP plan, Sales, as-sold CM and hit rate
•Drives adaption of contemporary tools (PCDB, CRM, RAM, GRIP…)
- Complete risk assessment, submission, deal clarification/negotiation & hand-over to the OTR phase- Be responsible for the execution of the Commercial Risk Review Process including deal reviews and approvals, in compliance with Grid Solutions Policy 5.0
- Work closely with ComOps , Legal and Lead contract Terms & Conditions negotiations, - Ensure process adherence to all Government contracting requirements
•Be responsible for proposal document control and archiving, per policy
•Support the proposal process improvement and proposal quality metrics
•Drive the OTR turnover process to ensure proper control of contract flow-down requirements

•Own Productivity and Quality: proposal timeliness, accuracy, defects
•Use SPEAK4GE tool for deal/proposal management
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited university or college
•5 to 8 years of experience in similar role, commercial Ops or project management role
•Strong Knowledge of T&D or power projects. Experience in the Wind Renewables Sector (onshore or offshore) will be a plus
•Strong knowledge in Commercial contracting strategies, Consortia/Subcontract/EPC terms
•T&Cs Risk management for full turnkey solutions
•In depth knowledge of contractual terms and conditions; experience in structuring and negotiating contracts to minimize business risk
Desired Characteristics
•MBA or master’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
•Minimum 5 years of increasing leadership experience
•Minimum 5 years of experience in turnkey business operations
•Ability to influence and lead cross functional teams

•Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
