Seattle City Light’s Project Delivery Division is currently seeking two (2) Senior Capital Project Coordinators to work in our Major Projects and Strategic Capital Programs teams. The Major Projects position will be responsible and expected to both carry out and work independently as a senior project manager and as part of a broad team to carry out and develop new, technically complex, high priority projects and programs within Seattle City Light’s Project Delivery Division. This position will report to the Major Projects Manager.

Senior project managers within Strategic Capital Programs drive major capital investments to the utility’s infrastructure from conception to delivery of publicly and politically sensitive projects often in coordination with regional inter-agency efforts. This position will report to the Strategic Capital Programs Manager.

Job Responsibilities

Here Is More About What You’ll Be Doing Major Projects:

This position will be expected to lead electrical transmission and distribution program development and projects tied to Large Projects, such as the Sound Transit, SR520, and other major transportation driven and community generated utility relocations. Position may also be used to participate in the preparation of a long-term strategic capital improvement plan. The project manager leads teams and works closely with field units, engineering, environmental, finance and management personnel to coordinate planning, design, construction and close out phases. The project manager also interacts with outside agencies, executive and legislative staff, consultants, contractors, and the public to plan and coordinate work. Incumbent would be responsible for the development of scopes of work, cost estimates, budgets contracting, schedule, tracking, reporting, and meeting project plans to achieve ultimate customer service and project delivery for assigned projects and programs.

Strategic Capital Programs

: This position is expected to lead complex and publicly/politically sensitive capital investment projects, from early conception to ultimate delivery. Assigned Projects include Key Customer Switchgear Replacement and Upgrades, Substation Transformer Replacement Program, City Light Facilities Replacements and Upgrades, Interdepartmental Fleet Electrification, Grid Modernization Projects, Underground Cable Replacement Program projects, Maritime Transportation Electrification Program (MARTEP) Projects, Denny Substation Program’s Denny-Massachusetts Transmission Line Project, Pole Replacement Program, potential projects at City Light’s Hydropower Facilities, and many more. Position may also be used to participate in the preparation of a long-term strategic capital improvement plans. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Skills In addition to the skills and experience mentioned below, a successful applicant will have experience that reflects a commitment to creating fair and equitable outcomes and has:

Requires a minimum of four years project or construction management or related experience and a Bachelor Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Business Administrat­ion, Urban Planning or related field (or a combination of education and/or training and/or experience which provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class).

Desired Qualifications - You will be successful if you have the following experience, skills, and abilities:

5 years of combined experience in electrical engineering design, civil engineer design, construction management or project management or related experience.
Experience with a government organization and/or utility is strongly desired
Excellent interpersonal skills
Experience working with engineers, contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders.
Experience working with government agencies.
Experience working with a diverse and multicultural environment.

Additional Information

The full salary range for this position is $61.94 to $72.26 per hour.
